City Receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting

The City of Thunder Bay received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting for its 2023 Annual Financial Report this week. The award is given out by the Government Finance Officers of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The award was created to encourage municipal governments across Canada to produce high-quality financial reports, while also providing technical guidance for the municipal staff who create the reports.

Following extensive analysis, engagement, and a commitment to community safety and wellbeing, the City has identified 1111 Fort William Road, a parcel of land owned by the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority (LRCA), as the recommended site for the Temporary Shelter Village Initiative. March 31, 2025 – Infrastructure Ontario and the City of Thunder Bay’s Parks & Open Spaces Section would like to inform residents that part of the gravel LPH trail on the west side of Boulevard Lake will be temporarily closed from April 2 - 4, 2025, for forest restoration work.
