Fairview Avenue to close for railway crossing work

A portion of Fairview Avenue will be closed to traffic this week to allow for completion of rehabilitation work on the CPKC railway grade crossing.

Fairview Avenue will be closed in both directions at the rail crossing beginning on Tuesday, July 23. The closure is expected to be in place through Saturday, July 27.

The intersection of Memorial Avenue and Harbour Expressway will be closed on Tuesday, July 23 to allow for a switchover to newly installed traffic signals.

During the work, the intersection will be closed to through traffic on both streets. Northbound and southbound traffic on Memorial Avenue will be permitted to make right turns only onto the Harbour Expressway.

The closure is expected to be in place between 9 am and 4 pm on July 23.

Prince Arthur’s Landing Splash Pad temporarily closed

Early this morning, City crews were required to make emergency repairs to the water filter system at the splash pad at Prince Arthur’s Landing. The work has been completed, but the splash pad will remain closed until it is able to be fully refilled.

It is anticipated that the splash pad at Prince Arthur’s Landing will reopen by 6pm this evening.

Section of John Street Road to close Monday

A section of John Street Road will be closed on Monday to allow for sewer and water installations.

John Street Road will be closed in both directions between Valley Street and Mercier Drive starting at 6am, with access for local traffic only. During this time, please use Hutton Park Drive as a detour.

The closure is expected to last approximately 12 hours.

Parking lot at Junot Park temporarily closed

The parking lot at Junot Park will be temporarily closed to the public during working hours to support several infrastructure improvements in the area.

The parking lot will be closed on weekdays between 7am and 7pm as work proceeds. On-street parking is available in the surrounding area.

The parking lot will reopen when the work is complete, expected to be by mid-August. Junot Park remains open to the public during this time.
