Join us for a Beary Good Time at the Teddy Bears Picnic July 9

The City of Thunder Bay invites everyone to Vickers Park on Tuesday, July 9 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm for a day spent enjoying entertainment, delicious food and fun activities with friends, family, and your favourite stuffed animal at the annual Teddy Bears Picnic! This event is presented by Ontario Power Generation.

The Teddy Bears Picnic, a tradition in our community since the early 1980s, is fun for the young and young at heart! Watch the exciting stage show, check out the enchanted story time...

Churchill Pool parking lot temporarily closed

The parking lot at Churchill Pool will be temporarily closed starting on Tuesday, July 2 to accommodate sidewalk repairs.

The parking lot is expected to reopen by Saturday, July 6. The pool will remain open and available to the public during normal operating hours while the sidewalk work takes place.

On-street parking is available in the area of Churchill Pool. Motorists are reminded to respect all posted signage and applicable bylaws. The pool can also be accessed via Thunder Bay Transit.

North Core reconstruction moving to next phase

Work to renew Thunder Bay’s North Core is proceeding to its next phase, with the closure of Red River Road extending to Court Street starting on Tuesday, July 2.

During this phase of construction, Red River Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between Court Street and Cumberland Street.

Pedestrian access to businesses on both sides of Red River Road will remain available.

Municipal Parking Services wants to hear from people who live in the downtown cores, and their experiences with parking.

Changes to parking rates and hours of enforcement started June 1, and Municipal Parking Services wants to learn about any impacts this has had on people who live in the downtown Fort William area, Waterfront District, or Bay and Algoma areas.
