Reminder of Regulated Parking at Prince Arthur’s Landing and Marina Park

Residents planning to visit Marina Park or Prince Arthur’s Landing are reminded that the parking lots at Market Square and on Pier 3 behind Bight Restaurant are regulated and do not permit parking longer than 3 hours.

Overnight parking is also not permitted, allowing contractors to clear snow without vehicles blocking the way.

Signs outlining the regulations are posted onsite and tickets may be issued to those in violation

The 2024 Ontario Winter Games, presented by Hydro One and proudly supported by Volunteer Sponsor Tbaytel, are coming to Thunder Bay February 16 – 26 at sporting venues across the city.

As the Ontario Winter Games committee gears up for one of the most significant sporting events in Thunder Bay, the invaluable contributions of volunteers take the stage. The deadline to apply to become a volunteer is November 30.

City beats housing target, applies for $46 million in federal funds

The City of Thunder Bay has surpassed its provincially assigned housing target for 2023. One of only nine Ontario municipalities to achieve this goal, the City expects to receive funding from the provincial Building Faster fund.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan Survey now available

A new Multi-Year Accessibility Plan is underway, which will help identify and remove barriers to accessibility in Thunder Bay.

The plan, created by the Accessibility Advisory Committee will look at potential accessibility issues and determine the best response to possible barriers.

Accessibility comprises many categories including accessible physical design (e.g., curbs and sidewalks), and accessible customer service for all people.

Council Composition Review Committee begins its work

The committee examining the composition of Thunder Bay City Council had their inaugural meeting last week, with a focus on public engagement and research of other communities.
