City's Solid Waste & Recycling Facility Easter Holiday Hours

March 29, 2018 - The City of Thunder Bay's Solid Waste & Recycling Facility will be operating on holiday hours this Easter weekend. This also includes the City of Thunder Bay's recycling depots.
Good Friday, March 30 - Closed
Saturday, March 31 - 8 am - 4:30 pm
Sunday, April 1 and Monday, April 2 - Closed
Regular hours begin Tuesday, April 3
The Solid Waste & Recycling Facility is located on the west side of Mapleward Road at 5405 Mapleward Rd., between Oliver Road and John Street Road.

March 28, 2018 - The sport of ski-cross could be introduced to Thunder Bay as early as next year with the potential for tracks to be built on the slopes of both Mount Baldy and Loch Lomond, the community's two ski hills.
The alpine ski discipline, introduced at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, is an action-packed and adrenaline-fueled sport that features four to six racers going head to head, at the same time, with the aim of finishing first.

March 27, 2018 -Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, Tbaytel and the Lakehead University Thunderwolves Hockey Team again joined forces to promote fire safety with local elementary school students this winter. The fire safety lessons were taught by Thunderwolves players and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue. March 27, 2018 - The City of Thunder Bay commends Fort William First Nation's efforts in conferring with Canadian National Railway Company, and examining ways in which the James Street Bridge could be repaired and reopened to vehicular traffic once again.
