Community Economic Development Commission Wins Advertising Award

February 13, 2018 - Thunder Bay's Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) has won an Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) Award of Excellence for advertisements that were placed on Toronto Transit Commission vehicles in 2017. 

The winning advertising campaign encouraged residents of Toronto, or anyone else riding that city's transit, to consider the advantages of living, working or investing in Thunder Bay and to visit www.gotothunderbay.ca.

Cause of McGregor Avenue Fire Was Electrical

February 7, 2018 -The cause of yesterday's fire to a McGregor Avenue home is suspected to be electrical and is not considered suspicious. The fire caused significant damage to the attic of the home. 

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the home just before 4 pm Tuesday afternoon. On arrival, firefighters encountered flames coming through the roof of the home. Fire Investigation Update - Clark Towers Fire

February 2, 2018 - The Ontario Fire Marshal Investigator has completed the fire scene investigation looking into the origin and cause of the fire at Clark Towers which took place on Jan. 31. The fire has been determined to be accidental and smoking related.

The occupant of the apartment, who was admitted to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, is now characterized as stable.
