Property Owner Ticketed For Carbon Monoxide Alarm Violation

March 1, 2018 - A Ridgeway Street property owner has been ticketed for failing to install a carbon monoxide alarm where required. The ticket carries a fine of $360.  

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire at the residence on February 12. The fire was confined to the kitchen area and was quickly extinguished. During the fire investigation, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue investigators discovered there was no carbon monoxide alarm outside the sleeping areas.

Feb. 28, 2018 - Thunder Bay's key priorities were brought to the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) Conference in Toronto this week.

Weekend Snowmobile Accidents Keep Emergency Services Busy

February 20, 2018 - Superior North Emergency Medical Services (SNEMS) paramedics were kept busy over the weekend responding to multiple snowmobile accidents. At about 11:20 am on Saturday, Feb. 17, a 911 call was received for two people injured from a snowmobile accident south of Shabaqua Corners. Upon arrival, paramedics learned the two injured snowmobilers were located about 17 km in the bush with access only by snowmobile.
