2018 Live on the Waterfront Delivers City's Summer Soundtrack

June 8, 2018 - The City of Thunder Bay is proud to announce its most diverse and talented Live on the Waterfront lineup to date.  

Live on the Waterfront won Best New Festival/Event in Ontario and placed as a Top 100 Event at the 2018 Festival & Events Ontario Awards. Section of Chapples Drive to Close for Culvert Construction

June 5, 2018 - A section of Chapples Drive is closed today to realign and reset the culvert that crosses Chapples Drive. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the day.  

The road will be closed to vehicle traffic at the southwest corner entrance until the loop at the golf course. It will be closed to pedestrians from the start of the trail at the river up until the golf course.

City Crews Respond to Victor Street Water Main Break

June 4, 2018 - City crews have responded to a water main break that occurred last night on Victor Street. 

While the water main is being repaired, residents in Mount Forest, around Mountain Road and Riverdale Road may experience low water pressure or discoloured water. 

Water service will be temporarily turned off for some residents on Victor Street to facilitate repairs and those impacted will be notified. 

Notification will be provided when water service is restored.

Mayor Hobbs Declares June 4 Weed Out Hate Day

June 4, 2018 - Today has been proclaimed Weed Out Hate Day in Thunder Bay. Mayor Keith Hobbs along with children and staff from Little Lions Waldorf Daycare & Kindergarten planted sunflowers as a symbol of commitment to peace. 

Participants pulled out weeds and planted sunflowers together as a metaphor for weeding out hate, bias, discrimination, bullying and racism in our community. The sunflowers are a reminder of our commitment to plant the seeds of love, peace, respect and inclusion.

Busy 2018 Roadwork Season Begins

The City of Thunder Bay is investing $25.6 million in 2018 on a number of infrastructure improvements including road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sanitary and storm sewer and watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work, and streetlight renewal.
