Hate Crimes and Discriminatory Attitudes Condemned

March 1, 2018 - In response to media reports today of racially motivated incidents of eggs being thrown from vehicles and striking pedestrians, Acting Mayor Paul Pugh made the following comment on behalf of City Council and Administration:
"We condemn hate motivated crimes and discriminatory attitudes.
We encourage everyone to report hate crimes and stand up to racism.

Keep Fire Hydrants Clear and Accessible

March 1, 2018 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and the City's Infrastructure & Operations Department want to remind residents and businesses to do their part this winter and help keep fire hydrants clear and accessible.

Property Owner Ticketed For Carbon Monoxide Alarm Violation

March 1, 2018 - A Ridgeway Street property owner has been ticketed for failing to install a carbon monoxide alarm where required. The ticket carries a fine of $360.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire at the residence on February 12. The fire was confined to the kitchen area and was quickly extinguished. During the fire investigation, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue investigators discovered there was no carbon monoxide alarm outside the sleeping areas.

Feb. 28, 2018 - Thunder Bay's key priorities were brought to the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) Conference in Toronto this week.
