City Seeks Submissions for Arts & Heritage Awards

December 7, 2017 - The achievements and contributions of local artists & historians, cultural professionals, organizations and supporters will be celebrated at the 8th Annual Thunder Bay Arts & Heritage Awards, presented by the Copperfin Credit Union, on Feb. 23, 2018, at Magnus Theatre.  The awards show is sponsored by CBC Thunder Bay and Magnus Theatre.

Calendar Parking Restrictions Now in Effect

December 5, 2017 - Due to weather conditions, city-wide calendar parking restrictions have come into effect today. 

"The implementation of calendar parking restrictions for this winter is based on the recent snowfall," said Jonathan Paske, Supervisor - Parking Authority. "Motorists are asked to obey posted calendar parking signs and allow our crews to remove snow from City roadways more efficiently."

Calendar parking applies to residential streets and the restrictions are in effect from 9 am...

City Roads Crews Continue to Clear Snow During Winter Storm

December 5, 2017 - The City's Roads Section is working hard to manage winter control conditions; however, residents are asked to take precautions when driving today.

Road crews started plowing arterial and collector streets at 5 am this morning and will continue to address these roadways throughout the day. Due to the quantity of snow falling and blowing snow, the arterial and collector streets need to be re-plowed. This will delay response to residential plowing.

Some City Facilities Closed Due to Power Outages

December 5, 2017 - Due to current weather conditions, there have been power outages at several City facilities resulting in closures.

The Canada Games Complex, 55 Plus Centre and Ogden Child Care Centre have been closed. 

All programs scheduled for today and this evening have been cancelled. Swim lessons at the Canada Games Complex will be made up next week and any facility rental contracts will be amended. Residents may attend regular swims at Volunteer and Churchill Pools, which are currently...

Tonight's Red River Ward Meeting Cancelled

December 5, 2017 - Due to current weather conditions, the Red River Ward Meeting with Councillor Brian McKinnon scheduled for tonight at the 55 Plus Centre has been cancelled. The meeting will be rescheduled.
