January 9, 2018 - Mayor Keith Hobbs, members of the Official Recognition Committee and past award recipients officially opened nominations for the 2018 Citizens of Exceptional Achievement Awards today at City Hall.

Proposed 2018 City Budget Released

January 3, 2018 - The proposed 2018 Municipal Budget forms the starting point for City Council's detailed review. In 2017, City Council directed that the proposed 2018 tax-supported budget achieve a 2.9% municipal tax levy increase net of growth and include a net budget reduction of $1.6 million to achieve this target.

Outdoor Skating Rinks Now Open

December 22, 2017 - The City's outdoor skating rinks are now open with the exception of the rink at Castlegreen Community Centre and the rink at John Kusznier Park. Both rinks are expected to be ready next couple days. Residents are encouraged to grab their skates and visit one of the fantastic outdoor rinks that the City has to offer.
The City has the following supervised outdoor rinks and ponds:
North Side- North End Community Centre, two boarded, one pond, 954 Huron Ave, open seven days per week
Skating at Prince Arthur's Landing This Holiday

December 19 , 2017 - The waterfront skating rink and change area at Prince Arthur's Landing are open daily throughout the holidays from 11 am - 9 pm. The only exceptions are Christmas Eve, when the facility closes at 3 pm, and Christmas Day, when both the rink and Water Garden Pavilion are completely closed.
