Thunder Bay Wins Bid to Host 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games

August 18, 2017 - Special Olympics Canada announced today that Thunder Bay has been awarded the 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games. The finalists were Thunder Bay and Regina, Saskatchewan.
The bid theme was "Hearts of Gold" to highlight Thunder Bay's community spirit and the fact that 2020 will be the City of Thunder Bay's 50th Golden Anniversary year.

August 16, 2017 - Thunder Bay's key priorities were brought to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Annual Conference in Ottawa this week.

August 15, 2017 - The Fort William Urban Park pilot project launched today on Victoria Avenue East.
