Property Owner Ticketed for Smoke Alarm Violation

September 26, 2017 - A Mountdale Avenue property owner has been ticketed for failing to maintain a smoke alarm in operating condition. The ticket carries a fine of $360.

September 25, 2017 - Nominations are now open for the 7th Annual Mayor's Community Safety Awards, which recognize Thunder Bay residents and groups who are working to make our city safer.

Section of Mountdale Avenue to Close for Rail Crossing Rehabilitation

September 25, 2017 - Mountdale Avenue, from Gore Street to the laneway accessing Stanley Avenue, will be closed to all through traffic starting on Tuesday, Sept. 26, to allow for rehabilitation work on the CP rail crossing.  

The closure is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, Sept. 29. 

The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors - such as weather - can have an impact on project timelines.

September 25, 2017 - National Coaches Week is underway across Canada to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities. National Coaches Week runs from September 23 to 30 and is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play.
