James and Churchill Intersection to Close for Sewer Construction

July 20, 2017 - The intersection at James Street and Churchill Drive will be closed to all traffic starting on Monday, July 24, for storm sewer construction and watermain replacement.

The work is expected to take up to two weeks to complete. There will be no disruption to water customers.

The current traffic detour will be extended to Redwood Avenue, Edward Street and Victoria Avenue as the through corridor for north-south movements. Local access to the residential areas west of James Street will be...

Muskeg Express Train Ride Not In Service

July 20, 2017 - To ensure its safe operation, the Muskeg Express Train Ride at Centennial Park is not in service yet for the season.

Administration is having the ride assessed to identify any upgrades or measures required to ensure it is safe to operate.

There is no scheduled start date at this time. Further updates will be provided when information is available.

Noront Resources Considers Thunder Bay for Ferrochrome Processing Facility

July 20, 2017 - Noront Resources LTD. delivered a presentation on their plans to construct a ferrochrome processing facility (FPF) in Northern Ontario. North End Park Splash Pad Officially Opens

July 14, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay's newest splash pad at North End Park officially opened today at a grand opening ceremony. 

"We are thrilled to be able to open the new Splash Pad in North End Park," said Councillor Andrew Foulds. "It's wonderfully-designed, and features something for everyone looking to keep cool during the hot summer months."
