Thunder Bay Chosen in Ontario Basic Income Pilot Project

April 24, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay has been chosen to take part in a provincial pilot project to assess whether a basic income can better support vulnerable workers, improve health and education outcomes for people on low incomes, and help ensure that everyone shares in Ontario's economic growth.

April 20, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay is calling on youth to embrace their inner foodie. Food Frenzy, presented by OPG, will take place Wednesday, May 3, from 3 - 7 pm, at the Kinsmen Center, 609 James St. N.

Food Frenzy offers hands-on experiences guided by local food and drink professionals. Youth participants will have the chance to discover local food and create their own dishes while enjoying music by LU Radio.

April 12, 2017 - The City's curbside battery collection takes place on residents' regular recycling days between April 18 - 28, providing the opportunity to conveniently and safely recycle spent household batteries.

Flag Raising Celebrates City's Involvement in Canada Games

April 11, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay received the official Canada Games flag today on its cross-country tour to the 2017 Canada Summer Games. Mayor Keith Hobbs, along with local athletes, raised the flag in McGillivray Square during a special ceremony at City Hall to celebrate Thunder Bay's past and present involvement in the Canada Games.

April 6, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay launched a user-friendly, accessible, mobile-friendly job posting and applicant process today at the Brodie Resource Library.
