Waste & Recycling Collection Moves One Day Earlier Next Week

November 3 - In all waste collection Areas and Zones, curbside garbage collection will occur one day early during the week of Nov. 6, due to Remembrance Day.
This change will also affect recycling and leaf and yard waste collection in AREA 1 - ZONE 1, AREA 2 - ZONE 1, AREA 3 - ZONE 1 and AREA 4 - ZONE 1.
There will be no garbage or recycling collection on Remembrance Day, Friday, Nov. 11.

November 2, 2016 - The City activated Thunder Bay's first pedestrian crossover today at the south-west corner of Algoma Street and Cornwall Avenue.
On January 1, 2016, changes to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act came into effect that officially allows municipalities to install new types of pedestrian crossovers.

Road Work at Edward Street and Redwood Avenue Intersection

November 1, 2016 -The intersection of Edward Street and Redwood Avenue will be closed to North-South through traffic beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 2, for storm sewer construction. A detour route will be posted.
The South to West and East to South intersection ramps will remain open. Access will be maintained to the Northwood Mall area.
The road closure will remain in effect for approximately one and a half weeks.

November 1, 2016 -Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week is happening Nov. 1-7. Ontario Law requires carbon monoxide (CO) alarms to be installed outside of all sleeping areas in homes and other residential buildings that have any of the following:
