Traffic Signal Work at James Street & Redwood Avenue to Begin

July 29, 2016 - The traffic signals at the intersection of James Street and Redwood Avenue will be rebuilt over the next five weeks, with work commencing on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
The existing traffic signals will be replaced with temporary all-way stop signs during the construction period. Traffic lanes will be reduced to one through lane in each direction until the new signals are operational.

July 28, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay's Crime Prevention Council announced the fourth annual edition of City Hall Sounds today, which will bring live entertainment, local food trucks, and community partner information booths to the South Core neighbourhood.

Sister Cities Delegation to Visit Little Canada

July 28, 2016 - A four person delegation from Thunder Bay will be returning to Little Canada, Minnesota this weekend for the Annual Canadian Days celebration.
A Sister City of Thunder Bay since 1977, Little Canada is located north of Minneapolis and has a population of 10,000. The celebration features a Mayor's reception, Canadian themed music, food vendors, sporting events, fireworks and a Canadian Days Parade.

Partial Closure of William and Balmoral Intersection Starts Tuesday

July 25, 2016 - The intersection at William Street and Balmoral Street will be partially closed as of Tuesday, July 26 to facilitate the construction of a new storm sewer.
The closure affects the west side of Balmoral Street, or the side on which the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is located. The east side of the intersection remains open to traffic.
The closure is expected to last until Friday, July 29.

Section of Oliver Road to Close for Sewer and Water Work

July 25, 2016 - A section of Oliver Road between Ray Boulevard and Rupert Street will be closed on Tuesday, July 26 as new sewer and water services are installed.
The closure will be in effect from 6 am to approximately 4:30 pm, or until work is complete.
While the road will be closed to through traffic, local traffic will be permitted. The eastbound sidewalk will also be closed and pedestrians will be required to use the westbound sidewalk.
