Drug Strategy 5th Annual Community Report Now Available

July 27, 2016 - The Thunder Bay Drug Strategy released the fifth annual Community Report Travelling the Road to Change at City Council Monday evening.

The report outlines the significant progress that has been made in many Drug Strategy initiatives.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Starts Home Fire Safety Program

June 28, 2016 -Thunder Bay Fire Rescue has begun its annual Home Fire Safety public education program.

Firefighters will be going door-to-door in residential neighborhoods this summer. They will be discussing important fire service concerns such as smoke and CO alarm requirements, outdoor burning rules and regulations, and home fire escape planning.

Heavy Rain Causes Surface Flooding Across City

June 26, 2016 - Heavy rainfall experienced in Thunder Bay on Saturday, June 25, caused flooding in a number of locations throughout the City.

The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority reported up to 92mm of rain fell in the City on Saturday. A total of 227 calls were received through the dispatch centre and related largely to surface and basement flooding. City staff continues to respond to reports of concern.

Public Art Plans Unveiled for Algoma Street

June 22, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay unveiled plans for the beautification of curb extensions on Algoma Street between Bay Street and Cornwall Avenue. The curb extensions are being transformed into displays of Public Art with the addition of painted street furnishings and plans for the installation of two pedestrian-scale bronze sculptures.
