Reconstruction of Balmoral Street Continues

September 2, 2016 - The southbound lanes of Balmoral Street, between Hewitson and William Street, will be closed starting on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for approximately two to three weeks.

Work includes the filling in of ditches and installation of storm sewers, construction of asphalt multi-use trails on both sides of the road to facilitate active transportation, pavement rehabilitation, and new curb and gutter.

South bound through traffic will be detoured along the Harbour Expressway to Golf Links Road then...

Road Work to Close Section of Simpson Street

September 1, 2016 - Work that will close Simpson Street between Robertson Street and Pacific Avenue is scheduled to start on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for sanitary sewer replacement and pavement resurfacing.

The work will last for an estimated seven weeks. 

A detour along McKenzie and Robertson Street will be posted to route motorists around the area of construction.

New Sculptures Unveiled on Algoma Street

August 31, 2016 - Two new sculptures were unveiled today by the City of Thunder Bay on the Algoma Street curb extensions between Bay Street and Cornwall Avenue. The curb extensions have been being transformed into displays of Public Art with the addition of two pedestrian-scale bronze sculptures titled Wild Life by Hamilton-based artist Brandon Vickerd.
