Murray Raises Pittsburgh Penguins Flag at Sports Hall of Fame

July 18, 2016 - Local NHL goalie Matt Murray of the 2016 Stanley Cup-Winning Pittsburgh Penguins raised the team's flag outside the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame today.
At a special ceremony to recognize the achievements of local hockey hero Matt Murray, Mayor Hobbs presented an official City Scroll to Murray with his mother and family in attendance.

Neebing River Trail Reopened to Pedestrian Traffic

July 15, 2016 - Construction on the covered pedestrian walkway is now complete and pedestrian traffic may resume on the multi-use trail running beneath the Neebing River Bridge on Highway 61, just north of Arthur Street.
Temporary lighting has also been installed on the trail, which connects Wolverine Crescent in Parkdale to Thornloe Drive in Northwood.

Temporary Simpson Street Closure Begins Monday

July 15, 2016 - The intersection at Simpson Street and Robertson Street will be temporarily closed starting on Monday, July 18, as sewer and water service tie-ins are completed.
While the entire work area stretches between Ogden Street and Pacific Avenue, only the intersection will be under construction and completely closed to traffic. The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks.
