New Sculptures Unveiled on Algoma Street

August 31, 2016 - Two new sculptures were unveiled today by the City of Thunder Bay on the Algoma Street curb extensions between Bay Street and Cornwall Avenue. The curb extensions have been being transformed into displays of Public Art with the addition of two pedestrian-scale bronze sculptures titled Wild Life by Hamilton-based artist Brandon Vickerd.

Balmoral Street and Hewitson Street Intersection to Close Friday

August 25, 2016 - The intersection at Balmoral Street and Hewitson Street will be closed on Friday, August 26 to allow for the construction of a new storm sewer. 
 
The closure affects the east side of Balmoral Street (side on which the Keg is located). The intersections on Balmoral Street at Sibley Drive and William Street have both reopened.

Businesses located along Hewitson Street will remain open and can be accessed via Carrick Street.

Culvert Work to Divert Traffic on Mapleward Road

August 25, 2016 - Culvert replacement work will require the closure of a small section of Mapleward Road between Laval Street and Highway 11/17 beginning on Monday, Aug 29.
 
While local traffic will have access to the area, other through traffic will not be permitted. Drivers intending to access Mapleward Road to the south of Laval Street will be required to do so from Arthur Street. Similarly, the section of Mapleward Road to the north of the culvert location will be accessible from Highway...
