Fire Ban Lifted for the City of Thunder Bay

May 16, 2016 - Please be advised that effective at 5 pm, today all fire permits have been reinstated in the City of Thunder Bay.

The community's cooperation throughout the ban is appreciated. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue will advise if there are any further changes to the status of the permits.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted

May 15, 2016 - The precautionary boil water advisory for customers in pressure Zone 2N has been lifted. City representatives will hand deliver rescind notices to affected customers beginning Monday, May 16, and will continue through the week during regular business hours.

Crews continue to make progress on repairs at the Chamberlain Pumping Station. However, all customers city-wide are asked to continue to limit non-essential water use wherever possible at this time.

2016 Road Work Season Begins

May 13, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay is investing $19.1 million in 2016 on road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sewer and watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work and streetlight renewal.

This month marks the start of a busy road work season in Thunder Bay, and road work can result in road closures, detours and delays for drivers. All residents are reminded to reduce their speed, be alert, watch for workers and drive with extra care in construction zones.
