Doors Open 2016 - Opening the Doors to Thunder Bay's Rich Heritage

September 8, 2016 - On Saturday, Sept. 10, more than a dozen historically, architecturally and culturally significant sites in Thunder Bay will open their doors to the public during Doors Open Thunder Bay. 

The purpose of the event, which is coordinated by the City of Thunder Bay's Heritage Advisory Committee, is to spark the interest of both residents and visitors in Thunder Bay's rich cultural heritage.

Treasure Exchange Days Return this Weekend

September 8, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay's popular Treasure Exchange Days return this weekend,  September 10 and 11, giving residents a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while reducing waste.

Anyone with gently-used items they wish to give away can leave them out on the curb any time after 5 pm, on Friday, Sept. 9. Clearly label the items FREE. Over the weekend, residents are encouraged to tour their neighbourhoods to see what treasures they can find.

2016 Mayor's Community Safety Award Nominations Open

September 8, 2016 - The Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council is calling for nominations for the sixth annual Mayor's Community Safety Awards, which recognize Thunder Bay residents and groups who are working to make our city safer.

The awards will be presented during a special ceremony, which will take place during the Nov. 7 meeting of Thunder Bay City Council. The Presenting Sponsor for the Awards is once again Thunder Bay Hydro.

2016 Road Work Continues

September 7, 2016 - A busy road work season continues in Thunder Bay. Projects to be undertaken in 2016 include road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sewer and watermain repair/replacement, bridge and culvert work and streetlight renewal.

The City of Thunder Bay is investing $19.1 million in 2016 on these improvements and related infrastructure.

September 2, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay advises all road users to take extra caution while travelling along the roads near Windsor Street, between Algonquin Street and Rockwood Avenue.
