Chief of Superior North Emergency Medical Service Appointed

June 17, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce that after a thorough and rigorous search, Wayne Gates has been selected as the Chief of Superior North Emergency Medical Service (SNEMS), effective immediately. Gates has been acting in the position since October 2015.

Improvement Plan to be considered to Revitalize Cores Areas

June 14, 2016 - A new Community Improvement Plan to promote development and rehabilitation of Thunder Bay's core business areas will be introduced at a City Council Public Meeting on June 20.
The Plan recognizes Thunder Bay's downtowns and the Westfort Business Area as strategic core areas where revitalization and intensification efforts will be focused to promote vibrant, walkable, mixed use districts.

Environmental Assessment Begins for Boulevard Lake Dam Project

June 15, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay held the first public information session lastnight at the Current River Recreation Centre for the new Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) of the Boulevard Lake Dam Rehabilitation Project.

June 13, 2016 - Mayor Hobbs issued the following statement after hearing of the fatal shooting in Orlando, Florida:
