Road Work Restricts Access to Two Sections of Edward Street

August 7, 2015 - Motorists are asked to avoid travelling on Edward Street if possible next week due to two major road construction projects that will limit access to two different sections of the corridor.
On Monday, Aug. 10, Edward Street at Woodlawn Street will close to through traffic to allow for the installation of a new storm sewer. The closure is scheduled for five days.

Fort William Gardens Box Office Remains Open Following Accident

August 6, 2015 - On Wednesday, Aug. 5, at approximately 5:40 pm, a single motor vehicle drove into the southwest corner of the Fort William Gardens. The facility was closed at the time of the incident and there were no injuries to facility staff or patrons.
The accident has caused significant damage to the facility. The vehicle travelled partially through the exterior wall creating a large hole in the wall. Damage to a number of stalls in the women's washroom on the interior of the facility...
Water Line Work to Close Section of 15th Sideroad

August 4, 2015 - 15th Sideroad between Mountain Road and Thunder Road will close today for three days due to water line work.
The closure will be in effect from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm today, Aug. 4, Wednesday, Aug. 5 and Thursday, Aug. 6. During the work periods, there will be access to local traffic only.
The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors - such as weather - can have an impact on project timelines.
Those travelling in the area are asked to use extra caution.

Thunder Bay's First Protected Bike Lane and Multi-Use Trail Opens

July 31, 2015 - Cyclists and pedestrians using the Arundel Street Active Living Corridor will now have more separation from car and truck traffic thanks to an improved lane configuration.
In May, City Council approved implementing Thunder Bay's first buffered bike lane and protected two-way multi-use trail on Arundel Street. The buffered bike lane is located on the north side of Arundel Street and can be identified by the double white line with diagonal hatch markings in it.
