City Gets Onboard with Local Food

September 15, 2015 – A groups of residents from the City of Thunder Bay’s three Homes for the Aged visited Belluz Farms today to learn more about the fresh local vegetables which will now be appearing on their menus.

Shuniah Mines Mountain Bike Trail Temporarily Closed

September 14, 2015 - The Grand Chasm Trail in the Shuniah Mines mountain bike area has been closed to the public to allow for the construction of a permanent fence around a number of abandoned and exposed mine shafts located near the trail.

The closure is effective Monday, Sept. 14, and is expected to last until the end of October.

Sept. 10, 2015 - A busy road work season continues in Thunder Bay. Current projects include road and sidewalk rehabilitation, residential paving, sewer and watermain repair/replacement, bridge work and streetlight renewal.

Thunder Bay Hosts Largest-Ever Live Fire Exercise

September 10, 2015 - FireCon, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and Draeger Canada are hosting the largest-ever attempted "live fire" exercise Sept. 11-12, at the Fire Training Centre complex in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of FireCon taking place in the City Sept. 10-13, at the Victoria Inn.

Up to 120 firefighters from across Ontario, Manitoba and the northern US are participating in the exercise that requires 21 TBFR instructors and assistance from 20 representatives from private industry partner...
