Golf Links Road to Reopen Monday

October 16, 2015 - Golf Links Road between John Street and Linden Court is scheduled to reopen to traffic on Monday, Oct. 19.
"All four traffic lanes will be open as Phase 2B of the Golf Links Road widening and reconstruction project nears completion," said Kayla Dixon, Director of Engineering.
"Minor boulevard and landscaping work will continue, but will be completed off-road and is not expected to have any serious impact on traffic."

Home Fire Safety Program Begins Across Neighbourhoods

October 16, 2015 -Thunder Bay Fire Rescue has begun its annual Home Fire Safety public education program. Firefighters will be going door to door in residential neighborhoods for the next month through Nov. 14. They will be emphasizing the legal requirements of working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

New Traffic Signals at James and Churchill to be activated Friday

October 15, 2015 - Newly rebuilt traffic signals at the intersection of James Street and Churchill Drive will be activated on Friday, Oct. 16.
The signals will be turned on at approximately 12 noon. Motorists travelling in the area are asked to use extra caution while the lights are being activated.
All traffic lanes at the intersection will also be reopened as of Friday morning.

Reduced Adoption Fees to Recognize National Feral Cat Day

October 15, 2015 – Feral (or community) cats are homeless, not hopeless. On Oct. 17, from 12 until 4 pm, a celebration will take place at Animal Services in honour of National Feral Cat Day and from now until Oct. 17, cat adoption fees will be reduced.
The City of Thunder Bay Animal Services and Superior Street Cats are working together to raise awareness about feral cats and promote the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program in Thunder Bay.
