Centennial Park Parking Lot Reopening on Saturday

June 12, 2015 - The Centennial Park parking lot will reopen to the public as of Saturday, June 13.
The lot had been closed since earlier this week to allow for the installation of a new water main, which is now in service.
The parking lot will be closed for one more day during the week of June 22 - 26, in order to allow for insulation of the water line which services the park service building at the entrance to the parking lot.
The exact date has not been determined, as it will depend on the number...
Child Care Survey to Capture Community's Child Care Needs

June 12, 2015 - Local families with children up to 12-years-old who are not currently attending a City of Thunder Bay Child Care Centre are invited to give input into a review of the City's child care operations through a Child Care Survey.

Owner Ticketed For Smoke and CO Alarm Violations

June 12, 2015 - A Thorndale Crescent property owner has been ticketed for failing to install a smoke alarm where required and failing to install a carbon monoxide alarm where required. Each ticket carries a fine of $360.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a structural fire at the residence on May 17. The fire was quickly brought under control and the resulting investigation led to the tickets being issued.

Summer Lovin Pet Adoption Special

June 12, 2015 – Animal Services will be reducing pet adoption fees by over 50 per cent during Summer Lovin Adoption Special in an effort to increase the number of pet adoptions and minimize euthanasia when the shelter is at capacity. The event runs all week starting Monday, June 15 and through Saturday, June 20.
Interested residents can visit the Animal Services Centre from 11 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and 12 to 4 pm on Saturday.

Treasure Exchange Days Return this Weekend

June 10, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay's popular Treasure Exchange Days return on June 13 and 14, giving residents a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while reducing waste.
Anyone with gently-used items they wish to give away can leave them out on the curb any time after 5 pm, on Friday, June 12. Clearly label the items FREE. Over the weekend, residents are encouraged to tour their neighbourhoods to see what treasures they can find.
