Final Fall Leaf & Yard Waste Curbside Collection coming

This Fall, there will be a second Leaf & Yard waste curbside collection. The first collection took place between Oct. 1 and 11.

“The two collections give us an opportunity to increase the amount of leaf and yard waste collected and diverted from the landfill,” said Jason Sherband, Manager of Solid Waste & Recycling Services. “If we see the tonnage go up, we’ll know that the extra collection is a valuable service for residents. The City of Thunder Bay will collect public feedback on Recreation and Culture Division services through a public survey, as part of the process to update the Asset Management Plan (AMP).

The Asset Management Plan helps the City make informed decisions about services related to infrastructure and assets. Boulevard Garden By-law survey open for feedback

The ability to plant your favourite perennials or annuals on your boulevard could be a reality by next summer if the Boulevard Garden and Maintenance By-law is approved by City Council.

Before that can happen, the City will collect feedback on the proposed By-law. The draft By-law is available for review, with comments incorporated into a final report and presented to City Council.
