New Deputy Fire Chief Appointed

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Chief Greg Hankkio is pleased to announce that Martin Hynna is the successful candidate for the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Hynna started on October 27.

The City of Thunder Bay, in partnership with Lakehead Social Planning Council, has launched an Affordable Access to Recreation & Transit pilot program to reduce financial barriers for eligible residents to access City recreation and transit programs and services.

The City has unveiled this year’s exceptional individuals and organizations inducted into the Women’s History Month Exhibit, as well as the related artwork to be featured on the City’s newest Art Bus.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue is welcoming ten new firefighters to the job, at a graduation ceremony to be held this evening at the Fire Training Centre.

Leaf and Yard Waste collection to begin next week

Fall curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will begin next week. Collection will take place between October 24 and November 3, on your regular recycling days.
Leaf and yard waste set out for curbside pickup must be placed in kraft paper yard waste bags with each bag weighing less than 18 kg/40 lbs once filled.
