City of Thunder Bay accepting submissions for SnowDay sculptures

As part of the 2024 SnowDay on the Waterfront, taking place on Family Day, Feb. 19, the City of Thunder Bay’s Recreation and Culture Division announced today its annual Call to Artists for Snow Sculpture submissions.

Section of May Street closed for infrastructure repairs

A section of May Street between Donald Street and Victoria Avenue will be closed today to complete necessary infrastructure repairs.
Drivers and pedestrians can expect delays in the area, and are asked to use extra caution.
The work is expected to be completed this afternoon, with the road opening by 5 p.m.

Ongoing storm sewer work keeps Algoma Street closed

North Algoma Street will be closed between St. George Avenue and Dawson Street starting this afternoon due to additional work required for the storm sewer repair located near the intersection of north Algoma Street and Dawson Street.
North and South bound traffic flow on Algoma will be detoured to St. George Avenue and Dawson Street. Pedestrians and motorists can expect delays in this area, and are encouraged use caution and reduce speeds in the detoured area.

Prince Arthur's Landing skating rink to open December 2

Skating season is here, and the rink at Prince Arthur's Landing will officially open for the season tomorrow, Saturday, December 2.
The rink will be supervised, and the Water Garden Pavilion Lodge open Monday through Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 pm.
