The City of Thunder Bay Archives is now accepting nominations for the annual Women’s History Month web exhibit that celebrates women who have made contributions to Thunder Bay’s history. New profiles are added during Women’s History Month every October.

The City of Thunder Bay is undertaking an update to the Community Centres elements of the Recreation and Facilities Master Plan and a Service Level Review to better understand how the community utilizes Community Centres and what their future priorities are for the Centres. Bike lanes officially open

Bike lanes are officially open in Thunder Bay, with the completion of street sweeping along the City’s bike lane network.

On-street parking restrictions affecting designated bike lanes will now be enforced. The City reminds drivers not to obstruct bike lanes with their vehicles, to help keep our roadways safe for all travelers.

Transit routes impacted by reconstruction of north core streets

Several Thunder Bay Transit bus routes will temporarily take detours to accommodate work to rebuild roads and sewers in the downtown north core.

Starting Monday, May 6, routes 1, 2, 3M, 11, and 13 will detour because of construction closing the Red River Road and Cumberland Street intersection.

The City will provide an update when the intersection is ready to reopen and buses can resume their previous routes. The intersection is expected to open later this summer.
