Section of High Street South Closed for Emergency Sewer Repair

High Street South is currently closed between Oliver Road and Markland Street, for an emergency sewer repair.

While the repair is completed, there will be no through traffic on this section of High Street South. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution and expect traffic delays in the area. Residents living within the road closure are asked to be cautious when accessing and leaving their homes. 

The duration of the road closure is undetermined at this time.

The 2024 Ontario Winter Games, presented by Hydro One and proudly supported by Volunteer Sponsor Tbaytel, are coming to Thunder Bay February 16 – 26 at sporting venues across the city.

City beats housing target, applies for $46 million in federal funds

The City of Thunder Bay has surpassed its provincially assigned housing target for 2023. One of only nine Ontario municipalities to achieve this goal, the City expects to receive funding from the provincial Building Faster fund.

Multi-Year Accessibility Plan Survey now available

A new Multi-Year Accessibility Plan is underway, which will help identify and remove barriers to accessibility in Thunder Bay.

The plan, created by the Accessibility Advisory Committee will look at potential accessibility issues and determine the best response to possible barriers.
