Free Compost Available Starting October 3

October 1, 2015 - Free compost will be available beginning on Saturday, Oct. 30 until the end of October to Thunder Bay residents at no charge; weather permitting and while quantities last.
The success of the City's leaf and yard waste recycling program has resulted in additional compost being available at the City's Solid Waste and Recycling Facility.

October 1, 2015 – The City of Thunder Bay’s Municipal Division proudly kicked off the 2015 United Way Employee Campaign at 20th Annual Kick-Off Luncheon. The Municipal Division includes employees of the City of Thunder Bay, Superior North EMS and Thunder Bay Public Library.
As the largest corporate campaign in Thunder Bay, the Municipal Division Employees United Way Campaign has raised more than $2.3 million since its inception in 1996. The 2015 fundraising goal is $191,100.

Mayor's Motion Forefronts LU as Event Centre Tenants

September 25, 2015 - A motion put forth by Mayor Keith Hobbs for the Monday, Sept. 28, Committee of the Whole meeting is asking Council to support moving ahead with Lakehead University as the main tenant in the proposed Thunder Bay Event & Convention Centre (TBECC) project.
The resolution directs Administration to negotiate directly with the University and that the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, continue to seek opportunities for funding at the Federal and Provincial levels of government....
Water Main Repair May Cause Discoloured Water

September 24, 2015 - Repairs to a north-side trunk water main may cause discoloured water for some residents on Friday, Sept. 25.
Repairs to the main have already taken place, and the water supply to the main is scheduled to be turned back on early Friday morning.
The work may cause discoloured water at times. In addition, water pressure, taste or clarity could be affected for short periods.
