On-line Exhibit Expanded for Women's History Month

October 8, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay Archives is proud to add profiles of six outstanding women to its online exhibit that recognizes women who have contributed to the history of Thunder Bay.
Betty Kennedy, Gertrude Cornish Knight, Charlotte MacGillivray-Amar, Dorothea Mitchell, Judith Mongrain and Truade Wedding, to the online exhibit that was launched the exhibit in 2013, to celebrate significant contributions of women in the city.

October 6, 2015 – Superior North EMS is pleased to announce Deputy Chief Wayne Gates as its Acting Chief.
Mr. Gates has been with SNEMS since May 2001, and has also held both positions of Deputy Chief Operations and Deputy Chief of Professional Standards. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Applied Business in Emergency Service and received the Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Medal from the Governor General of Canada in 2008. October 6, 2015 "” Thunder Bay Fire Rescue kicked-off National Fire Prevention Week at St. Pius X Elementary School today. Grade 4 and 5 students at St. Pius X educated a gymnasium full of classmates, teachers, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue personnel and Fire Chief John Hay on the importance of working smoke alarms and home fire safety.
