The City of Thunder Bay's Engineering Division is responsible for long-range planning, design, construction supervision and records management of:

  • storm drainage systems
  • sanitary sewage collection and treatment
  • water supply, treatment and distribution
  • roads and bridges

The day-to-day maintenance of this infrastructure is completed by the City's Roads Section and Environment Division.

The Engineering Division also tracks repairs made to our streets by outside agencies through the use of the Utility Location Permit application.
