2016 Santa Bus Food Drive an Overwhelming SuccessDecember 13, 2016 - Thanks to the generosity of Thunder Bay citizens, the Annual Santa Bus campaign has had yet another successful year, bringing in more than 11,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and almost $2,000 in cash donations for the Thunder Bay Food Bank. This total surpasses last year's campaign by nearly 4,000 pounds of goods.
Be Aware of the Dangers of Thin Ice and Cold WaterDecember 8, 2016 - With cold weather now upon us, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue is encouraging parents, guardians and teachers to speak with their children about the dangers of walking on ice and exposure to ice cold water.
Ice conditions should be considered dangerous at all times, but they are especially dangerous early in the winter season as thick ice has not yet formed.
Heroes Saving Lives Calendar Now AvailableDecember 8, 2016 - The City's Animal Services Division in partnership with Superior North EMS and Superior Street Cars, have produced a fundraising calendar featuring EMS professionals with rescue animals.
All proceeds from the sale of the calendars go directly towards spaying and neutering thousands of animals in Thunder Bay.

With the rink opening, the City is encouraging residents to come down to the waterfront and enjoy the many activities and facilities available to the public.
Tenant Pleads Guilty to Disabling Smoke AlarmNovember 30, 2016 -A Simpson Street tenant pleaded guilty in Provincial Court last week to disabling a smoke alarm and was fined $1,000 plus court costs.
The charge was a result of an investigation done by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue after a structural fire at a Simpson Street apartment building in June.
