Final Spring Leaf & Yard Waste Curbside Collection Begins Next WeekThe second and final Spring Leaf & Yard Waste curbside collection will take place between June 9 and 19, on residents’ regular recycling days.
This is a great opportunity to finish spring yard clean-ups and dispose of leaves, branches and woody brush.

Automated garbage cart usage begins week of June 1Beginning next week, the remaining Thunder Bay residential households will begin using automated carts for curbside garbage collection.
“We’ve been looking forward to this move to an automated, cart-based garbage collection system since it was included as an action item in the City’s long-term Solid Waste Management Strategy,” said Jason Sherband, Manager – Solid Waste & Recycling Services.

City of Thunder Bay AA+ Credit Rating Reaffirmed in 2026S&P Global Ratings has reaffirmed the City of Thunder Bay’s credit rating of AA+.
S&P Global Ratings, an international credit rating agency, has given the City an AA+ rating for the fourth consecutive year.

City Seeks Input on Potential Surplus of Junot Avenue LandsThe City of Thunder Bay is looking for public input as it considers the surplus of a parcel of land on Junot Avenue for community development.
The lands, which form part of Junot Park, are being considered for surplus to support a proposed faith-based community campus that would include a place of worship, a gymnasium, an educational facility, and residential units.
