  • Award-Winning DJ Shub to Perform a Free Concert at Culture Days

    September 14, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay is excited to announce that DJ Shub, formerly of A Tribe Called Red, will be featured in a free public concert as part of Culture Days.

    The show will be presented in the Matawa First Nations Management parking lot near the corner of John St.

  • Community Celebrates Recovery at Family-Friendly Event

    September 14, 2017 - Several hundred individuals came out to celebrate Recovery Day at the 4th Annual Rockin' Recovery event held at Marina Park Festival area yesterday evening. The event, which featured five local recovery speakers and live entertainment, was planned in partnership with the Thunder Bay Drug Strategy, the Drug Awareness Committee, and community members.

    September 13, 2017 - The City is asking residents to help plan and design new street signs and maps for walkers and cyclists. Good street signs and mapping help people find their way around.

  • Help Improve Transit in Thunder Bay: Route Optimization Plan Underway

    September 12, 2017 - Residents are invited to get involved in the Thunder Bay Transit Route Optimization Plan which aims to make transit services more effective and efficient. Comments to improve transit services can be submitted by completing an online survey at http://tbtsurvey.fyi. The survey can also be accessed through the City's website at www.thunderbay.ca/transit and will be open until Friday, Oct. 6.

  • Cameron Street Storm Sewer Work Begins Tuesday

    September 11, 2017 - A section of Cameron Street, from Waterloo Street to Norah Street North, will be closed to through traffic due to maintenance to the storm water collection system.

  • Delaney Arena Offering Healthier Options at Canteen

    September 8, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay, in partnership with Healthy Kids Community Challenge and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, are launching the new Fuel Shop Canteen at the Delaney Arena tomorrow, which offers healthier food and drink options for everyone to enjoy. 

    The Fuel Shop is a three-month pilot-project that makes healthier menu options available.

  • Section of James Street Open After Storm Sewer Work

     
    September 7, 2017 - The section of James Street, between Victoria Avenue and Churchill Drive in the vicinity of the Neebing River, will be re-opening on the evening of September 7.

    The section of the street was closed in June for storm sewer reconstruction.

    September 6, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay will host a Pre-Budget Consultation on Tuesday, Sept. 12, where the public is invited to learn more about the 2018 City Budget and discuss what is important to them.
