Construction Limits Access to Kaministiquia River Heritage Park
November 12, 2015 – The pedestrian underpass running between Simpson Street and Kaministiquia River Heritage Park has been closed to the public while contractors perform maintenance work on the paving stone pathway that runs through the underpass.
The work involves lifting the unit, paving stones along the length of the underpass and resetting their grade.
Free Transit for Veterans on Remembrance DayNovember 10, 2015 - In honour of veterans, Thunder Bay Transit is will be providing free transit service to all veterans and military personnel in uniform and the family members accompanying them on Remembrance Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015.

Building Owner Found Guilty For Failing To Comply With An Inspection Order and other Fire Code ChargesOctober 30, 2015 –The owner of the former Eaton’s building on Park Avenue was found guilty in Provincial Court Wednesday on three charges for failing to comply with an Inspection Order written by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue. In addition, the owner was found guilty on 5 additional fire code violations.

Smarter Transit: City Hall as the South Core Transit HubOctober 29, 2015 – As part of the Transit Master Plan, a route rationalization study was completed in 2012, and confirmed that the South Core area should continue as one of five key transfer hubs across the city.
In keeping with that recommendation and following more than four years of successful operational activity, City Hall remains the primary choice to maintain a major transfer hub.
Brown Bags Only for Fall Leaf & Yard Waste Curbside CollectionOctober 29, 2015 – Curbside collection of organic leaf and yard waste will take place from Nov. 3-13 on regular recycling days, and the City is reminding residents that only kraft (paper) bags will be accepted.
May Street Reopens to TrafficOctober 28, 2015 – The road reconstruction project on May Street between Dease and Miles Street has been completed, and the road has fully reopened to traffic.
The affected section of May Street has been closed all summer.
Distribution Changes May Temporarily Affect Water Clarity
October 26, 2015 – The City of Thunder Bay will make changes to the water distribution system in the Oliver Road area beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27 that will result in higher water pressure for residents.Contact Us
