  • Treasure Exchange Days Return this Weekend (1)

    June 7, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay's popular Treasure Exchange Days return on June 10 and 11, giving residents a chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures while reducing waste.

    Anyone with gently-used items that they wish to give away can leave them out on the curb any time after 5 pm, on Friday, June 9.

  • Paving to Reduce Dawson Road to One Lane in Each Direction

    June 7, 2017 - A section of Dawson Road between Skyline Avenue and Hilldale Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction, due to pavement rehabilitation starting on Monday, June 12.

    The pavement rehabilitation will involve removal of the existing asphalt surface, new curb and gutter replacement, and resurfacing of the street with two lifts of asphalt pavement.

  • Annual Report responding to Seven Youth Inquest set for June 12

    June 7, 2017 - A report outlining the City's response to the recommendations directed to the City in the Seven Youth Inquest will be presented to City Council at Committee of the Whole on June 12.

    The Inquest into the deaths of seven First Nations youth began on October 5, 2015 and concluded on June 28, 2016 when the Jury rendered its verdict.

    June 6, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay is delighted to announce 2017 City Events season highlights including awards, featured talent, major sponsors and funders.

    The City's events team is ramping up for another season of high quality events, two of which garnered provincial awards in last year.

  • Section of Oliver Road to Close for Sewer and Water Work (1)

    June 6, 2017 - A section of Oliver Road between Frankwood Avenue and Balmoral Street will be closed on Wednesday, June 7, for new water service installation.

    The closure will be in effect from 8 am to approximately 6 pm, or until work is complete.

    June 2, 2017 - The Marina Park Boater's launch and parking lot will be closed to the public on Monday, June 5. The closure is expected to be in effect from 7 am until 4 pm.

  • City Embarks on New Active Transportation Plan

    June 1, 2017 - The City of Thunder Bay is launching the development a new Active Transportation Plan on June 3, at the Bike Summit. This Plan is a major component of the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) which commenced in Fall 2016, and is being led by the City's Engineering & Operations Division and the TMP consultant, IBI Group.

  • Union Gas Employees to Receive Fire Safety Awards

    June 1, 2017 - Enzo Fabiano and John Gould of Union Gas will receive Fire Safety Awards from the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council at a ceremony today in Toronto. The annual Fire Safety Awards recognize outstanding contributions to fire protection and prevention in Ontario.

  • Mayor Hobbs Declares June 3 Mining Day

    June 1, 2017 - Thunder Bay will celebrate its rich mining heritage on Saturday, June 3, which has been declared Mining Day by Mayor Hobbs.

    Mayor Hobbs made the declaration at a ceremony today, June 1, at Mariner's Hall at Prince Arthur's Landing.
