    The City is delivering on a major commitment to support growth and investment in Thunder Bay, by simplifying and improving the development process with the launch of the Build Thunder Bay “One Stop Development Shop”.

    The concept of the One Stop Development Shop is to make the development process simpler and easier, by bringing development-related services that were previously spread across several divisions together.

    Due to yesterday’s storm, Chippewa Park is currently experiencing a power outage affecting the amusement rides and Pavilion. The rides are temporarily closed until power is restored and safety testing can be completed.

    Outdoor pools and beaches set to open June 27 and June 28

    Splash into summer at one of the many outdoor pools and supervised beaches opening today and tomorrow courtesy of the dedicated efforts of the City of Thunder Bay’s Recreation and Culture Division who are looking forward to providing another safe and fun swim season for everyone. 

    “We are excited that Art Widnall Pool, Heath Park Pool and Boulevard Lake will be back in operation this summer along with Sandy Beach,” said Kim Begin, Supervisor – Aquatics, Wellness, Children and Youth.

    This year, residents and visitors alike can celebrate Canada Day at Fort William Historical Park AND Canada Day on the Waterfront at Marina Park with both locations offering complementary events. Free activities, attractions and entertainment begin at Fort William Historical Park, from 10am-5pm, with festivities running at Marina Park from 3pm-9pm.

  • Water Street Infrastructure Work Begins Today: Lane Reductions in Effect

    Beginning today, Thursday, June 19, traffic lanes will be reduced on Water Street between Fort William Road and Bay Street to allow for infrastructure and drainage improvements. This work is in preparation for asphalt resurfacing that is scheduled to start in August.
