Water distribution system work may cause service interruptions for Mount Forest area residents
Scheduled maintenance work to the Neebing booster pumping station may cause water service interruptions to the residents of the Mount Forest Estates area. The planned maintenance is scheduled to commence on August 25, 2025 @ 9:00 am and is expected to be completed by end of day.
Automated garbage cart delivery begins to 25% of City householdsBeginning today, pre-assembled wheeled garbage carts will start being delivered to selected neighbourhoods representing approximately 25% of the City’s residential households. Delivery of carts will continue over several weeks.
Access to Trowbridge Falls and Centennial Park Limited on SaturdayThe City of Thunder Bay is advising the public that access to Trowbridge Falls Campground and Centennial Park will be limited on Saturday, August 23 for the Blacksheep XCM Mountain Bike Championship.
The event will see riders competing on trails throughout the parks, requiring changes to normal park access:
- Trowbridge Falls Campground: Campground patrons will continue to have access, but may experience brief waits entering or exiting the site depending on the race schedule.
Contract Awarded for Chippewa Carousel BuildingThe City of Thunder Bay and the Friends of Chippewa Park are excited to announce that the contract to build a structure to house the carousel has been awarded to M Builds (NWO) Construction LP.

City requests Expression of Interest for Indoor Turf FacilityThe City of Thunder Bay has released a Request for Expression of Interest (RFEOI) to gather information on the extent of available expertise and supplier interest in the marketplace with respect to the management and operation of the City’s new Multi-use Indoor Turf Facility. Information gathered through this RFEOI will be used to assist in the determination of future procurement options or requirements.
Live on the Waterfront Stage Set to Rock this WeekThe City of Thunder Bay’s Live on the Waterfront outdoor concert series, presented by Ontario Power Generation, will bring an electrifying evening of classic rock to the main stage at Marina Park on Wednesday, August 20 from 6 pm – 9 pm.
This week’s lineup celebrates Thunder Bay’s homegrown rock talent with high-energy performances and timeless hits:
- 6:00 pm – Tin Pan Alley: Known for their dynamic musicianship and polished sound, Tin Pan Alley delivers a mix of rock classics and crowd favourites.

Temporary Closure of Onion Lake Road for Culvert ReplacementThe City of Thunder Bay is advising the public that a section of Onion Lake Road will be closed to allow for the replacement of the culvert at the intersection of Onion Lake Road and Lancaster Avenue.The closure will begin Wednesday, August 13, and will remain in place until work is complete.
