Waste Collection Changes for Week Before EasterCurbside waste collection dates, city wide, will change next week due to Good Friday.
Garbage and recycling collection will move one day earlier next week, for all residents.
Citizen Satisfaction Survey Is UnderwayThe City of Thunder Bay has commissioned Ipsos, a professional public opinion research company, to conduct the 2022 Citizen Satisfaction Survey by telephone to a random selection of residents.
The telephone survey takes place from April 1-14 and gathers data from 500 randomly-selected citizens over 18 years of age to gauge their satisfaction with the services and quality of life in Thunder Bay.
“Power to Play” Launched to Help Kids Access Sport & ActivityPRO Kids is excited to launch its first annual fundraising campaign, Power to Play. The campaign aims to raise $50,000 to help local children and youth access community activities when families cannot afford the fees.
Reduced Load Restrictions Take Effect MondayAs part of the City of Thunder Bay’s efforts to maintain our roadways during the period of spring thaw, when road damage is most likely to occur, reduced heavy load restrictions will apply within the City of Thunder Bay limits beginning at 8 am on Monday, March 28.

Tenth Annual respect. Awards Presented for Inclusion, CompassionThe tenth annual respect. Award recipients were announced during the Diversity Thunder Bay Celebration today, with the honour going to one individual and one local organization.
Update on City’s Winter Operations for Road MaintenanceAs a result of yesterday’s winter storm event, the City of Thunder Bay’s Roads Section is working hard to clear and maintain the City’s roads and sidewalks.
Thunder Bay received approximately 30 - 50 cm of wet and heavy snow coupled, with high winds creating drifting in some areas.
Garbage and Recycling Collection Cancelled TodayDue to severe weather conditions, both garbage and recycling collection is suspended for today.
Residents who normally receive their collection on Wednesdays, will receive their collection on Saturday, March 26.
Accessibility Advisory Committee Recognizes Transit Driver Appreciation DayThe City of Thunder Bay’s Accessibility Advisory Committee is pleased to recognize Transit Driver Appreciation Day on March 18, 2022. The day highlights the roles Transit and Lift+ drivers provide for the City of Thunder Bay, transit customers, and the community as a whole.
