City Advises Caution on Roads for Winter Storm Warning in Effect
November 25, 2025 – A winter storm warning is currently in effect, and the City is urging motorists to use extra caution as road crews work throughout the community during the first significant snowfall of the season.
To help ensure everyone’s safety, we are reminding residents of the following winter driving tips:
• Reduce your speed and drive with care
• Increase your following distance to allow more time to stop
• Stay patient and avoid sudden maneuvers
• Remain alert for pedestrians and cyclists who may.Winter Priority Route and Calendar Parking Restrictions in Effect in Thunder BayNovember 25, 2025 – The weather forecast indicates that we are expecting 5 – 10 cm of snow overnight. The City will be enacting winter route restrictions and the annual calendar parking, in effect as of Wednesday, November 26, at 9:00 am.

City of Thunder Bay Raises Métis Flag in Honour of Louis Riel DayNovember 14, 2025 – The City of Thunder Bay is proud to raise the Métis flag from November 14 to 17, 2025, in honour of Louis Riel Day, to recognize the lasting contributions of Métis people throughout our community, and country.
The Métis flag will be flown at City Hall as a symbol of respect, remembrance, and the ongoing relationship-building with the Thunder Bay & District Métis Council, the Métis Nation of Ontario, and Métis citizens who call Thunder Bay home.
Site Preparation Work Underway for Temporary Shelter VillageNovember 14, 2025 – Construction on the Temporary Shelter Village at 879 Alloy Place is currently underway. Design work for the project has started, and sewer and water services have been extended to the site.
