City Files Motions Against CN in Superior Court of Justice
February 24, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay filed legal materials in the Superior Court of Justice against CN in conjunction with the James Street Swing Bridge on Monday, Feb. 23.

Council Rejects Final CN Offer - Seeking Validity of 1906 Agreement from CourtFebruary 9, 2015 - City Council tonight rejected the most recent and final offer from CN regarding the James Street Swing Bridge and have directed the City Solicitor to now seek confirmation from the court of the validity of the 1906 agreement which requires CN to maintain the bridge in perpetuity.
The decision follows a thorough review by City Administration and Council of CN's offer of Jan.Extreme Cold Weather Has Paramedics ConcernedFebruary 5, 2015 - In the last week, Superior North EMS paramedics have responded to at least five 911 calls for persons suffering from exposure to the cold weather, including one person with serious injuries to their extremities.
Deputy Chief Gates is reminding the public that when cold snaps persist, like what we are currently experiencing in Northwestern Ontario, it does not take long for hypothermia and frostbite to set in.

LU Thunderwolves Hockey & Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Talk Fire Safety at St James SchoolFebruary 3, 2015 -Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, Tbaytel and the Lakehead University Thunderwolves Hockey Team have joined forces to promote fire safety with the creation of this year's fire safety hockey cards. Today at St James School members of the Thunderwolves Hockey Team joined Thunder Bay Fire Rescue in educating grade four students.
City Resident Found Guilty of Illegal Outdoor Burning (1)January 29, 2015 - A Loch Lomond Road resident was found guilty of illegal outdoor burning earlier this week in Provincial Offences court and was fined $350. The charge stems from a July 2014 incident.
2015 LU Hockey Cards Highlight Fire Safety to FansJanuary 29, 2015 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, Tbaytel and the Lakehead University Thunderwolves have again partnered to release limited edition hockey cards of this year's varsity hockey team that highlight fire safety messaging.
"Fire and life safety education is one of our top priorites," said Thunder Bay Fire Rescue's Public Education Officer Anthony Stokaluk.
City Council Authorizes Sale of Royal Edward Arms BuildingJanuary 26, 2015 - City Council tonight authorized the sale of the Royal Edward Arms building located at 108-114 May St S. The building was marketed through an Expression of Interest and Request for Proposals process in November 2014, after Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation announced it would not be renewing its lease for the building.
