  • Corrosion Control Pilot Project Begins in December

    September 18, 2015 - The City of Thunder Bay will begin a Corrosion Control Pilot Study in the Hodder Pressure Zone starting in December 2015.

    The study will measure the effectiveness of reducing lead levels at the tap by adjusting the water chemistry of the treated water with the addition of a PH buffering agent.

  • US & Canada Come Together for Cross-Border Emergency Training

    September 16, 2015 – Emergency services providers and officials from the United States and Ontario, Canada are participating in a four-day Integrated Emergency Management Course with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Emergency Management Training Institute (EMI) to train in the event a cross-border emergency event takes place.

  • City Gets Onboard with Local Food

    September 15, 2015 – A groups of residents from the City of Thunder Bay’s three Homes for the Aged visited Belluz Farms today to learn more about the fresh local vegetables which will now be appearing on their menus. 

    “Thanks in part to the Greenbelt Fund and the Ontario Government, we’ve been able to purchase equipment that facilitates the harvest and handling of high-demand crops,” said Kevin Belluz, Farmer and owner of Belluz Farms.

  • Shuniah Mines Mountain Bike Trail Temporarily Closed

    September 14, 2015 - The Grand Chasm Trail in the Shuniah Mines mountain bike area has been closed to the public to allow for the construction of a permanent fence around a number of abandoned and exposed mine shafts located near the trail.
